IF THE WAR WERE FOR OIL AND OIL ONLY, why didn't we just go into Iraq, overthrow Saddam, and assume control of the oil fields.

Because Saddam is a bad guy, if you ever thought I supported him, I didnt. I was being practical, whose the biggest "bad guy" around at this time, Osama Bin Laden, wouldnt you agree? But since Saddam's a bad guy, that has done horrible things to his country, it's easier to overthrow him, gain support from other countries to do so, and blanket your actions with "We do this to prevent terrorism".

As for Mexico, I never suggested we go to take over their oil. Again, Re-read my post, the whole thing. I was making the point that IF, as you say, all we were after was oil, there would be easier ways to do it than going into Iraq

Actually there wouldnt be. Iraq was a perfect opportunity, it had a tyrant that should be removed from office. It's easier for a "bad guy" to get attacked and not be scruntized, then it is an innoncent (like, Mexico for example).

Put it this way, you want to show me that if Oil was all that funded this war on terror, an easier way to go at it would be to attack a nearby neighbor of yours, like Mexico. No, that would not be easier. No one will attack Mexico, there is no reason to attack Mexico (it is not being overruled by a merciless tyrant for example), if the US did attack Mexico, you would the UN against you, and every other country with exceptable weaponry against the US. Too many casualities.

My point in all of this is, Iraq was the easier way at getting more oil, otherwise the States would have to convince the world, that attacking Mexico or Brazil or hell, even Canada, is worth it, to prevent something that is so much more worse from occuring.

I can handle you being a complete airhead, but next time you re-post one of my quotes, post the whole thing, and respond to the whole thing.

Yes I did and it told me that Russia and France had trades with Iraq, quite possibly why they didnt enter this war. I dont care about France and Russia. I dont support what they did just as I dont support what your adminstration did. The point is, the war was irrelevent, your biggest threat was/is Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist network, there are no links between Iraq and Osama and Iraq and WMD'S. Your analogy is flawed. Your BACKYARD is YOUR property, go searching for it all you want. The mountain is in another country. My point, like i've said repeatedly, is that Saddam was a bad guy, you will not get any support from me saying otherwise, BUT OSAMA is MUCH WORSE. Saddam was not your greatest threat, OSAMA is.

I agree Mo. You shouldn't be surprised by Peanut. Unfortuantely most of my fellow Comminadians feel the way Peanut does. They've grown up and been brainwashed by the socialiost demi G-d's. Very few have the strength and brainpower to evolve into a conservative. I did. Wehn I go to University (in Commida), I made it my ojective to be free thinking. That's when I evolved into a conservative. When I was freethinking (My profs were angered by this) I learned a lot and realized that socialism destroying the moral favric of my society.
