Hmmm interesting concept. On the average, are the members of Concerned Women For America more attractive than the members of N.O.W.? Judging from news coverage, I think it may be true. Perhaps you can get federal grant money and conduct a study.

It's interesting at how utterly stupid some people can be, namely those that believe feminism is some kind of downfall to society. I'll admit, i'm not perfect, i believe women make better parents then men, simply cuz of the union with their child for 9 months. But feminism is about equality, that women, regardless of race, should be treated equal to ANYONE. Why are most women paid less for a job they can do equally well as any man could? Why are women trusted more easily in society then men? Why are white women given more sympathy then non-white women? Society has gotten use to the idea that women are different from men, not just physically, but even more so. Why? Because of stupid tradition, i leave you with this, who was britain's finest monarch, Queen Elizabeth the First, who was germany finest leader (taking in account STRICTLY bringing a dying country back to life) - hitler. Just something to think about.

NOW is not interested in the concerns of women. They only care about a hard to the left political agenda. I'm a woman, and they don't speak for me. I'm pro-life, and I don't live in a city with my lesbian lover and one test-tube baby, so I'm evil to them! If they didn't spend so much time and resources getting storms nammed after men, and making sure people can have their kids sucked into a sink they might be able to do some good! I would say their militant attitudes have likely done more harm then good. They likely are creating men who want to keep their wives on a mountain, barefoot and pregnant, and knock her into the next week when she gets out-of-line!

I'm not a person who feels the need to make a series of bizarre and unfair generalisations about possessors of a Y-chromosome. However, a couple of comments in this thread strike me as odd. Firstly, being a Brit myself, I can't say I agree that our finest ruler ever was Elizabeth I. I'm not entirely sure what leads people to that conclusion. Possibly it's a fact that while there are plenty of modern despotic rulers, the Tudors were despotic in a way which appears charmingly romantic to people who do not have to live through this era, and so are unlikely be killed or mutilated by the authorities for, say, writing an editorial which affirmed support for Queen Liz but meekly dared to question her foreign policy. Furthermore, since Elizabeth got into power entirely through the influence of a man (if her father had not been Henry VIII she would not have inherited the throne) she seems like a rather odd role model for feminists today. Secondly, I'd like to question the assumption that feminists are inherently uglier than most women. A woman shouldn't feel as if she has to attain some standard of attractiveness before men will take her seriously. Whether or not someone feels it necessary to smear coloured goop on her face every morning has no bearing on her intelligence or morality (it's her face, after all). Making gross generalisations about the appearance of radical feminists- and worse, implying that failure to meet some imagined standard of appearance is one of the many ways in which they fall below the mark- is not going to help. Most men are sensible enough to spot the hypocrisy of such statements. I'm not about to use them as a basis for denouncing 50% of the human race as sexist idiots. But that doesn't stop me regarding the minority who continue to hold such views as pathetic, either

Now that we've both uttered moronic pejorative statement, do you have anything intelligent to say?
Perhaps stereotyping is the extent of your analytical abilities, hence quoting that liar Rush Limbaugh for god's sake.
At least if you had paraphrased Moe or Shemp I would have some respect for your intellect.

For all of us who do not agree with the NOW organization, there is a website, www.nowanow.com, it stands for the national organization for women against the national organization for women. They too, don't like NOW and they are less militant than NOW. Check it out, it is a nice conservative site. It is the liberal media in television and movies that makes me angry. What are we teaching are children? That you don't need to be married to have children? That if you do bad things that is OK? I am really concerned about this country.

The fact is most unattractive PEOPLE, unless they are extremely talented, have a rough time in our society...they don't get raises as often as the cutie-pies, no one wants to go out with them (including, quite often, other ugly people) It's a rough thing all around...there may be something to lots of angry people trying to get their way. God knows, I often have wished that there was some sort of political movement to force pretty girls to go out with nice guys instead of just "hot" guys...but I'd be horrified if the law went the other way... so there may be an argument there...maybe that's what a lot of NOW and other organizations are about...getting the fat girl ahead...but there are lots of cute girls who are advocates of feminism--look at Gloria Steinem! I think a lot of basic feminism is about two issues: equal pay and abortion rights...and conservative women, a lot of them, silently agree... Mole moleonparole@yahoo.com

Simply put, if I, an employer, can hire a woman at 75% (or whatever) of the pay of a man, both of equal ability, I would be awfully stupid to hire a man, wouldn't I?
If gender pay bias really existed in the workplace, there should be full employment for women and a high demand for more...and ALL unemployment would be of those high priced males.
See how dumb the issue is?

Just something to think about. Without that "stupid tradition", any gentleman today is boorish by anyone's standards. Once everyone works for themselves, is utterly independent, and needs no one's help, all social graces are maimed. Why be courteous in a woman's presence? They are, after all, the same as men. Why hold the door for a woman? They're just as capable of it. As a result, you have a rude and base society devoid of manners.
