Millions of people lost their lives fighting WWII. Tens of thousands of Americans lost their lives in WWII. That's what happens when you wait until the threat is eminent. All I know is that INTELLIGENT military analysts, generals, strategists indicate that to do the job right in Iraq requires a force of about 400,000 troops.
There are 140,000 there now. Recruitment for the all volunteer army is getting more and more difficult. Bush has used National Guard troops to make up the slack - troops that SHOULD be doing things like protecting our borders and helping in flood areas of Florida.
The US troops cannot secure all the cities, all the infrastructure sites, not even the national treasure in the museums there, not to mention the unguarded ammo dumps. So how can he avoid a DRAFT!!?

While I haven't read many of your posts, they sure sound an awful lot like what I would read on any other loser forum crying how Kerry lost the election. Do you have any thoughts that are your own?

Here is a question maybe you can answer. How many of those who served in Vietnam returned with Kerry's record in such a short time as he did? Maybe if it was pretty normal for Swift Boat Captians (or whatever he was) to earn the amount of medals he did in four months we could see that he did actually do something over there other than try to run home and still give the impression of having served his country.
