Remember, murder is against the law.
Are you saying we should be able to kill who we please as long as we are willing to answer to God?
What's the difference that makes this anyone's place to judge?
Killing is killing whether you are taking the life of an adult or the life of an unborn child.
Murder. Plain and simple.

My Mother was murdered by a man named Daton Lee Roy Rogers, when I was 2 yrs old. I would rather have the bastard dead now, then in the middle of a trial right now about how he should be allowed to be with the general prison population (instead of in solo like hes been in.)
But, thats a different topic. I would like to say that all women should atleast have the CHOICE of abortion or not. And to the man who started this topic, A women shouldn't have to carry a FETUS if she chooses not to. It should be HER choice and everyone should let her DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF HER CHOICE, not be labled a killer by stuck up conserves.

Hmmm, tough issue to digest. I read recently where in some parts of Asia where ALL abortions are forbidden that thousands of women have died from self-inflicted wounds trying to perform a home procedure. Lots of facts & figures help both sides of this issue...

I agree, but where are your facts and figures? Where in Asia?
One of the claims of making abortion legal in America was so that it would be safer. It is safer now, per capita, but because there are so many more abortions, more women overall die from them. And the death rate for the CHILD is almost 100%!

NoSpace, your quote was " In this day and age it is okay to kill a defenceless baby - just DO NOT think about killing a murderer!" so you're either implying that it's not fair we are not allowed to do away with abortionists or the baby's mother. So what right do you have to claim that it would be okay to do away with these murderers, if they can be considered that. I may be pro-life but i understand that nothing is black and white and that many choices plague a woman going thru that horrible act. If you wanna debate whether or not an abortionist or the baby's mother is a murderer, i'm up for that. But you quote made it seem that it would be OKAY to kill those people, something that goes against the bible. I may no longer be catholic, but i'm one of those few that understand the religion, lol, WE ARE A RARE BREED! Putting one quote here or one quote there, is not how that book was supposed to be used, it's supposed to be studied and not used to find a quote that puts down others or reinforces YOUR belief. FD - I say i'm pro-life, and i stand by that, but you have to admit, you cant simply say, IT'S ALL WRONG, and stay adamant to that! You gotta nit-pick everything with such a grave decision and even more severe consequences. Here is what I see as wrong:- Don't cut tree's because an owl has to live - too bad if some guy needs to feed his family!
- Don't kill a murderer!
- Don't attack a dictator that has killed over 5,000 kurds using weapons he (HONESTLY?) claims his does NOT have.
- Ban toy guns in NYC because kids learn to use them - but just never mind GANGSTER RAP - that is talking about selling a womans pleasures - hating cops - using drugs - and killing rival's - ALL BECAUSE IT IS JUST A CULTURAL THING!
- AND ABORTION IS ONLY A WOMENS CHOICE!
Grant the fact that I am NOT a christian - BUT when being a christian was a NORMAL thing - there weren't so many MORAL ISSUE'S to contend with! Now I am about to show my age here - but I remember being at a parade - and when OUR AMERICAN FLAG went by - MEN took their hats off, placed it over their hearts, and MANY a man had tears in their eye's from the PRIDE! NOW - people bicker about which president was a liar and how the other one was so MORAL! . . . and someone has to be heard!

PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE! Why are people so damn adamant about abortion being either 100% WRONG or 100% RIGHT?! YOU CANNOT DO THIS. You can stand by your beliefs if it's one of the other, but you will look like an idiot, not like a strong person with strong moral convictions. Is Abortion a Choice? Nice simple question. and the answer is no. It is a final decision, something the woman feels must be done. My only problem with the decision in america and in canada, is that today abortion is being seen as one of many choices out there for women in this predictement. I honestly believe it shouldn't, it should be the very last choice, after all other options cannot be played out. Whether it's right or wrong, is a decision that the woman should make. But it still seems that in this day and age, women feel SECURE having this right, when i feel they should regret being able to make that choice. Abortion is a sad act, but the choice to have is one that should be pitied and not celebrated.

Thank God we now have a President who does not believe in the partial birth abortion. Imagine, having to kill the baby inside the mother before it was removed. How could anyone do that? I don't think most women really realize what it is. \ Thank you President Bush. God Bless You.

Peanut- There is nothing good or right or enlightened about seeing everything through the gray eyes of moral relativity. Only cowards, communists and college professors do that. Decent, moral folks stand up for their beliefs, with absolute moral clarity. Fence straddlers are weak people with sore behinds. There is such a thing as ABSOLUTE TRUTH!

Mo i agree there is such a thing as absolute truth...to the INDIVIDUAL, not to the WHOLE. If you want to simply say NO to abortion in EVERY single case, by all means you can do so, i dont have to tell you this. But to me, this simply cannot be done. With something as delicate as abortion each case has to be looked into. This still makes abortion wrong, to me, but at least i can understand why a woman would do something like that, even tho i will prolly never agree with it. But i do agree some absolute truths can be found in society, such as RAPE, rape is always wrong; there is not excuse in the world for someone to say they HAD to rape someone else. Another are hate crimes, there is not reason in the world for someone to HATE someone else based on sex, race, sexual orientation, age, creed, and so on. But to me, abortion is not a YES or NO answer to every situation, becuase there is not only ONE way to get pregnant. An absolute is made, when there is only one choice/instant that can be followed and that choice/instant is judged to be a good thing or a bad thing.

....to the individual and not to the whole?
The ONLY question is- is it a human life?
If so, then it is murder to kill it under any circumstances, except to save the immediate life of the mother. For example, a tubal pregnancy. If someone breaks into my home and is threatening the life of me or a family member, I can blow him to bits. If our lives are in no danger, it is murder!
Should murder be illegal? Everyone who has ever killed their spouse or their neighbor or their friend has a hard luck story to go with it. Should they not be punished if they can prove they had a damn good reason to be angry? At what point does the un-born get human status?
Yes, rape is always wrong, so is aborting for that reason. Children should not be killed for the sins of their father. Medical problems and rape account for less than 1% of abortions in the US.
Planned Parenthood claims that parental notification laws would be a bad thing, in case the child would be beat for getting pregnant or the father or step-father caused the pregnancy. Isin't that just beautiful? Suck the baby into a sink and send the girl right back into the abuse!

MO, you said, "If so, then it is murder to kill it under any cir*censored*stances, except to save the immediate life of the mother" - why this any different. A child is dead, the result is the same as murder. Abortion is always murder, but it cannot simply be outlawd completely. You are mixing up your belief with fact. Not the best way to argue. If i were to use your analogy, then i could say that killing someone in self-denfence is not murder, but the outcome is still the same as murder - someone in the end dies. Now before you reply to this, you are gonna think about what you want to say to counter-attack my point, which is exactly what i suggested about abortion - THOUGHT has to be given before the decision is made. The outcome is always a negative one, a child will die, but at least it is understood why that child died, instead of accusing the woman of being a sinner or a murderer or whatever. To me the unborn child gets human status the moment egg meets sperm, not because it is a human, but because it will be one. I agree that children should not be killed for the sins of their father but should rape victims be reminded of what a pervert has done to them? I am NOT supporting abortion but i am simply stating, unless you have been raped and forced to give birth to a child due to that instance, you cannot speak for all those women that have gone thru or will go thru something so horrorific.

Peanut- You seem to want to roll around in stinky moral ambiguity. That is your right. The people who make law cannot consider every personal situation in making public policy. I know people who have spouses that could a make a very good case for spousal abuse! Some people behave in ways and really seem to deserve to be knocked into next week! Dosen't mean it should be legal!
Law makers have to pick yay or nay. When the going gets tough, the tough have to pick a side.

Mo, it's funny, you are very much against saddam hussien and his regime, yet when it comes to the laws in your country, you are all for someone to simple say "yay" or "nay" (yeah, that one's gotta smart ). Abortion is not that simple. I'm sorry, but you are living in a dream world if you think so. God forbid your daughter or niece get raped and come to you for advice, will you simply say to them "NO ABORTION!" and go off on your merry way? Or will you hear your child's (or niece's) fears and heartaches, before you give them advice? You make it sound like getting an abortion (or not getting one) is as easy a decision as switching on a light switch! I am not "on the fence" as you so like to put it, i admire anyway whose willing to stand up 100% for their beliefs (however, i haven't found any that have, any with common sense at least). To me abortion will ALWAYS be wrong, but unfortunately it cannot be completely ruled out of this society. It is no RIGHT to women, but a WRONG every human must bare; UNFORTUNATELY we have this AWFUL choice given to us, and my only problem is that it is seen as ONE of MANY options, rather then what it should be seen as, the LAST option available.
