A special investigative hearing is underway, about the actions of Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Ilario Pantano relating to the deaths of two Iraqi during combat in Fallujah in April of 2004. Lt. Pantano appeared, yesterday before a Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 32 investigating officer at Camp Lejeune, N.C. At issue: are there reasonable grounds to believe Pantano committed the offenses of a pair of premeditated murders on April 15, 2004 while serving as a platoon commander in Iraq. The prosecttion testimony went so bad that ABC,NBC,The New York Post, and the Raliegh News and Observer (owned by NYT) did not show today. Some of the reporters were actually angry that things did not go bad for the Leuitenant. The main prosecution witness, a sargent, was said to have sounded like Ollie North during his testimony. He was only deposed 2 months ago, yet he kept up the "I do not recall", well he did 2 months ago.
This is a fine way to treat our soldiers. put their lives in grave danger, bring them home and charge them with murder. Then add insult to injury when things did not go their way, the media dismisses the whole thing. Sully someones reputation, then, when the facts are brought to light do nothing to report the inconsistencies to try and repair some of the damage done. They are truly biased.

You sound surprised by all the unattention the Liberal Press has when things don't go the way they want them to go.
I've gotten to the point of shoulder shrugging when I see them in action or should I say inaction.
Lt. Pantano while not being found completely blameless in the situation did deserve better.
As a former Marine I personally feel for the guy, and while not having been there I give him the benefit of the doubt. There is a very strong brotherhood among the Men and Women who have worn the Marine Corps uniform, but that's a whole different topic.

Not surprised just more disillusioned, no I don't think he will receive a special courts martial, but the media is always looking to fry someone. Just this morning on Today, Matt Lauer was questioning Saddam Hussein's attorney, regarding the pics in the British newspaper showing Saddam in his undies. That was sick enough while I was trying to eat my sandwich, but then he was ready to crucify whomever took those pics. Sorry I don't see anything wrong with embarrassing him, was it the movie "Little Nicky" w Adam Sandler? Harvey Keitel was playing Satan, enjoying his daily shove the pineapple up Hitler's ass?? That's where Saddam is headed.
