Hello everyone,
Just registered and very excited about what this board has to offer. I am looking forward to many debates and discussions.
About me:
Married, 4 children, all girls.
Former Marine of 5 years, 1980-85
Marine Security Guard
MOS: 2542, Communications Centerman
Now working for Dept. of State
Office of Diplomatic Telecommunications
Basically, I am the communications officer for US Embassies.
I have been posted all over the world, both as a Marine Security Guard and with this job. I've been overseas for the last 12 years.
I'm a staunch republican
I hate Illegal Immigration, flag burners, liberals, gays, communists..
I love my Family, this great country.

Why 'hate?' strong word. Communists? aren't they extinct? Flag burners? So you hate our freedoms too? Gays? wow that blows me away. I have a gay brother btw. And you hate me too an old fashioned liberal loving, freedom loving American. Veteran too. I must be missing something.

You say you’re a freedom loving American, and a veteran to boot. How could anyone who served in US Armed forces support burning the American Flag? The ultimate symbol of this country. The symbol which so many American citizens have fought and died and are currently dying for? How could you as an American do that? In my opinion you’re no better then the terrorists, insurgents or muslim radicals who do the same denouncing the Untited states. Why aren’t you over there in the Middle East doing it with them… hell, that’s where you belong. You don’t deserve to live in this country, you and every other flag burner needs to go. The first Amendment gives us freedom of speech.. burning the American flag is not an act of speech, it’s an action, and a treasonous one at that. American prisoners of war have painstakingly stitched together bits of cloth to fasion little American Flags to give them hope and strength during their ordeals in captivity. This, in my very humble opinion is the ultimate act of a patriot and greatest act of patriotism I can think of. You on the other hand, being a supporter of flag burning would probably go up them take their flags and burn them.. This in my very humble opinion defines liberalism, and is the ultimate act of a liberal. Thank God almighty I’m a republican. God Bless America. Uncle |

Uncle, freedom is a tough thing, it means just that, that you are free to express yourself and it is a part of our fundamental liberties granted by the constitution. I do not support burning flags but I support the rights of an American citizen to free speech and that is a part of freedom. Tough stuff sorry it is too hard for you.

Welcome Uncle Sam, and Semper Fi from a fellow Marine.
I probably share most of your conservative points of view. I would be hard pressed to let someone burn the Flag in front of me.
Too many of our Vets have paid the ultimate sacrfice to let American citizens enjoy their freedoms.
Tolerance towards our detractors is not something I'm very good at either.
Illegal Immigration is an issue that needs to be dealt with strongly and for the life of me I can't understand why this administration (whom I support) sits back and does virtually nothing.
Liberals are liberals and no amount of hate is going to change them. When they stand in front of the Pearly Gates they will be asked to explain themselves. I'll leave it to a higher power to mete out justice. Don't get me wrong I 'll still debate them but their time is coming, at least those that don't reform.
A Gay lifestyle is an abomination and should be treated as such. Again St. Peter will deal with them.
Communism isn't dead as Midcan states but I believe it's almost run it's course and will soon be obliterated (about the same time Uncle Vinny is).
Find some of U.V.s posts and you'll understand that
I too love this Country and fly my Flag 24/7.
Any flag burners out there who want to know where I live just ask!

The flag is only a piece of cloth and while I too don't want someone burning it that is their right and it is why we served. I never understand why conservatives fail to understand that? If we lack freedom than we become any nation as it is our freedom that makes us unique. We can do and say anything up to a point of harm or danger. That right is only available in a constitutional democracy founded on freedom. We can criticize those that exercise that right in a manner we find deplorable but we must still defend that right.
Why do conservatives think gay is something horrible? Every family has gay members so again I wonder. And if God has created gay people than should they not be accepted by the rest of us? Who are we to judge others because of something they are and that does no harm to us? Anyone who argues gay is a choice has so little understanding of life. Imagine selecting to be something so hard to be.
