The recent death of political thinker Samuel Francis Ph.D. has created a large hole in the frabric of the conservative movement. Francis is probably most noted for his collection of essays entitled "Revolution from the Middle" and his founding of The Middle American News. he was often wrongly labelled a bigot and other such nasty things because he was willing to take on issues that involved race, immigration etc. in a candid way...in a way that the current crop of neo-cons would never dream of doing. He stood up for American culture and American values and never flinched. For that he deserves great credit.

hmmm? www.thornwalker.com/ditch/francis_003.htm"It was National Review itself (along with Barry Goldwater) that championed resistance to civil rights legislation in the 1960s. "National Review believes," the magazine stated in an editorial of 1957, "that the South's premises are correct.... It is more important for the community, anywhere in the world, to affirm and live by civilized standards, than to bow to the demands of the numerical majority." No one today, of course, advocates legally enforced racial segregation, but the same principle applies now as then. The point is that it's Mr. Frum and his phony neo-con cronies who have perverted, misrepresented, and abandoned the real conservative tradition. It's the paleos who guard it."

I read the full article and once again Mr. Francis displayed his hard hitting, frank and intelligent assessment of the current political situation.
