God Bless Zell Miller,
He's chosen not to seek re-election, too bad. But he's had a profound effect on thousands of traditional Democrats. I know many long-time Dems, my parents included, who have been recently disillusioned with the direction of the modern Democrat Party, and Zell's public comments and criticisms have given validation to what many ordinary Americans had been thinking for a long time. This is no longer the people's Democratic Party. It's been hijacked by special interest groups and radical leftists like Michael Moore and the rest of the Hollywood Elite. My Grandfather, 77, has never voted for a Republican in his life, despite the fact he's a small business owner. But this year he's voting for W. Zell Miller said it best, and millions of older Americans agree with him; They haven't left the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party has left them. The days of the FDR, Truman, and JFK Democrats are long gone, and many of older Americans are taking notice.

It's a sad day but he has served his country proud. Truly the last of a dying breed- the intellectually honest Democrat. I come from a two party family. My parents cancelled each other out for years, so I'm used to friendly debate. I just hate it when it gets ugly. It rarely did that in my house growing up. Zell Miller is the kind of life long Democrat that was like one of my parents and that I can have respect for, and I would feel as though I really had a choice if the Democrats were running someone of his integrity.
