I don't agree with your statement about letting nonviolent criminals have the option of the army over jail. I think actually that's a horrible idea. We don't want our army to be full of criminals who only signed up so that they wouldn't have to go to jail. If I'm a soldier I want to serve alongside people who represent duty, honor and country, not people who are simply "doing time" so to speak. That's not the kind of people we want in our armed forces.

pretty much agree with you TNRighty. I believe prison should be runned like a boot camp, or at least something similar. I'm not sure if that's how some prisions work now, but prisons shouldn't be a 'country club' as some one put it before. I also think that if the crime you committed isn't murder (or something really bad) and you are given a handful of years, you should be able to have the choice to join the army instead (for at least the number of years you were centenced. Serve your time for your crime where your supposed to. The military is all voluntary for a reason, and it's not as easy to get into as it once was. What makes you think they would be welcome there |

However, you two do bring up some good points. I really wouldn't want to serve along-side a criminal with my life in danger. Maybe I'm just giving prisoners too much credit of wanting to improve there lives. I forget I'm thinking like a normal citizen and not a criminal. |

Just wondering if through all this back and forth, if I got missed? Basicly, I just want to know how many people think I should go to prison and how many think it was simply an accident.

If you are one that breaks the law, you have to be punished, these liberal judges are not very good at keeping these crooks behind bars. Prison terms are not harsh enough, for example.....a doctor that performs an abortion should be sentenced to death, laws are too liberal......in my opinion, liberalism is a cancer upon America.

I believe all prisoners should be required to partake in bible study groups for at least an hour a day. Failure to partake should result in solitary confinement. What these criminals need is to find Jesus, and to know that he loves them no matter what. I think that if they found that unconditional love they would no doubt become an asset to societ when they are released.

Our correctional system should run more "eye-for-an-eye"...you steal something, you have all of your personal property confiscated...murder = automatic death penalty...you rape someone, find a team of well-endowed homo perverts who would delight in punishing the guilty...etc...etc...
