I have a terribly sick feeling about the results of the election, but what really sickens me is the direction our democracy has taken. Can America truly be a beacon of democracy in the world if we are loosing sight of what makes a democracy great. I think a democracy is more than free, fair election where all sides fight over whose economic, social and moral position is the best, the winner having being elected proceeding to follow only the direction laid out by his/her side. What I think we should aspire to is an electoral process that embraces all positions and ideologies, and seeks a compromising common ground. In this way the electoral process would be the engine that drives a unified democracy rather than a polarized one. Secondly, looking back at the history of America, I think we have failed to understand the true nature of a democracy. We have looked at democracy as merely a gift from the founding fathers, who in their great wisdom devised this perfect system that we are privileged to live in. I think what the founding fathers did was give us a road map by which we can PURSUE a democracy. This pursuit is illustrated throughout history by the many changes our democratic system has undergone. It would be naive to think that our democracy has attained a perfect state that needs no further alteration. It is essential continue to passionately pursue freedom and democracy, but even more vital that we change the way we find ourselves pursuing it today. We cannot rely on promises of reconciliation and compromise after an election, we must seek to reconcile our differences and seek these compromises prior to electing a leader, so we can empower him/her with a clear vision of where we stand together, and where we can meet half way where we find ourselves apart.
My friends, I am deeply disturbed by the backlash I'm seeing with regards to a genuinely historical
event - namely, the 2004 Presidential election. Highest voter turnout in 44 years; most popular
votes garnered by ANY candidate in history; the nation answering all world detractors with a resounding
"F*CK OFF!"
So why the backlash? Why is Canada warning against would-be immagrants from the US? Why
are so many people so despondent?
Because THIS election was NOT about the war, the economy, health care, or any other "traditional" campaign
issue - it was about HATE. Kerry and Edwards? Their platform was the same Democratic planks that
have been used since Jimmy Carter - bigger Government, more Government aid / programs, tax increases.
However, those planks were completely overshadowed, once Kerry latched onto the "Anybody but Bush"
theme. And where did this theme originate? Michael Moore, and "Move On" dot org - those two entities
were the REAL prime movers of this election - and Kerry got shredded in the crossfire.
In essence, the Democratic Party has been hijacked by the radical liberals. Move On started their
vandetta in late March 2003, right after the war broke out; Moore took up the gauntlet by late summer,
and 98% of Hollywood / entertainment industry, and the media ensured that the "HATE BUSH" message
would be hammered 24-7 via every conceivable outlet, right up until the election. No alternatives to the
President's policies were offered, because none were even considered - it was all about HATE BUSH.
No reasonable discussion could happen, because it was all HATE BUSH. Dan Rather destroyed whatever
minimal credibility he and CBS may have had by his stubborn belief in an ADMITTED FABRICATION.
Integrity? No - HATE BUSH!!!!
March 2003-November 2004. Nineteen months of HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH!!!! People started
commenting on how nasty the public tone was becoming. Malls, theaters, arenas, chatboards; all
seemed to ERUPT from time to time with the same nasty overtones. And keep in mind, the War on Terror
had been progressing all the while - giving Moore / Move On even more "fuel" to add to the HATE BUSH
inferno they originated. Still no alternatives, dialogue, or solutions - just HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH,
HATE BUSH!!!! It started to really snowball, once the political campaigns started - and whatever
alternative to Bush policies the Democrats may have had got swept up in this extended moment of
the radical-liberal HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH!! movement. As such, extreme liberal
John Kerry got the nomination; he seemed the likeliest to see HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH
to the bitter end.
And he did.
Moore / Move On are one-note (not even one trick) ponies. They're HATE-MONGERS. PERIOD.
Radical liberals, doing for the Democratic Party as a whole, what the Taliban, Al Quaeda, et. al. are doing
for Muslim faith, as a whole. They're agitating-propagandists. They're terrorists. And, sadly -
they have a following. Take a good look at the final elctoral vote map, ladies and gentlemen - the
"HATE BUSH" effort met success in three areas of the country - the Northeast, the Far West, and
the upper Upper Midwest; 20 states, in all. With most media established on one coast or the other, and a renegade
liberal fringe along the mid-northern border, the reasons are obvious. No, John Kerry did not originate
HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH! - but he allowed himself to be used as its' figurehead, and he
paid dearly for the privilege.
The other 30 states, as well as the general election results, represent the public's TRUE answer to
HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH!!!! Nineteen months of the same crap - not even rhetoric, just crap -
there's bound to be a backlash. The radical liberal movement who hijacked the Democratic Party ironically
succeeded in awakening more of the electorate, who in turn did not like the all-out relentless PERSECUTION
of our President, especially in a time of war. Clinton's ups and downs don't hold a candle to what President
Bush has been through; Nixon's public disgrace looks like a tea-dance, compared to the vicious bilge that
came from HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH!!!!
And, it was this sweeping return of the Silent Majority, that has splintered the entire Left Wing of our country.
Why? Because, deep down in their hearts, they KNOW the radicals overstepped their bounds, and are
now making the rest of the party faithful "suffer" for it. They know they actually condoned it, by not putting
a halt to it early on. And, some few may even regret the despicable, utterly contemptible treatment of a sitting
President, regardless of party affiliation - respect for the Office, not the officeholder. (Note - Clinton invited
his disrespect by disgracing the office HIMSELF so blatantly in public).
HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH also derailed many other liberal efforts; chief among them being
the rejection of gay marriage recognition in all 11 states that had it on the ballot. There were a few
Democratic victories, but they'll be overshadowed by the overwhelming answer to the radical liberals.
So, what now? Well, Michael Moore and Move On are FINISHED. They can HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH,
HATE BUSH all they want, until it consumes them (and it will). Anyone who's stupid enough to give them
(or their hate movement) credence again DESERVES their agony - the rest of the country will get past
this episode easily enough. Wallow around feeling sorry for yourselves all you want, if you were a "follower"
(however peripheral) - if you did nothing to support or encourage any of this, you'll bounce back fairly quickly;
if, however, you were active.................
I think you know what two words come next.
That's it, folks. The naked truth. I take no pleasure whatsoever from what I've just said - and I'm heartsick
that so many people STILL can't, or won't, let go of HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH, HATE BUSH!!!! It's happening
all over the country; the whining and wailing, the "oh, this country is finished!" Finished by the end result of one
hate-consumed C*NT's best efforts to undermine society? Get REAL!!! Or at least open your eyes.......
Bottom line - this country STILL works as the Founders intended - MM & Co exercised their 1st Ammendment rights, and now they're PAYING for the privilege they so abused.
DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!!!!
