Pfffff! Why are you comparing entertainers to elected officials? You must think much more of them than you claim to or you wouldn't have such high standards for them. They can't even be held to the same standards as Dan Blather because they don't even claim to be non biased journalists. You claim to have this disdain for them, yet you listen to them. How retarded is that? Are you sure you're not on drugs? Why not compare them to other entertainers? I'd say liberal Hollywood has quite a few people who have developed drug problems. As long as people like Alec Baldwin go on network TV and talk about killing elected Republicans, your RANT will ring hollow. Forgive this pup's intrusion MO, but didn't the Late, Great President Ronald Reagan also have a "dirty" background before he entered the political arena? Is he still not revered, death aside, as a GLOBAL savior, much less our greatest President of our lives so far? Try to look at it this way - the libs are unwittingly paying conservatives a high complement, by their fixation on "celebrity" as a filter of political worthiness. They felt Reagan's impact, and they're desperate to duplicate it (albeit within their own parameters), without considering all the elements that made President Reagan the man he was - in short, conservatives KNOW Reagan existed and contributed abundantly to improving the world's lot in life - long bfore he entered politics. But, the liberals only acknowledged him AFTER he assumed the Presidency - they were STILL trying to figure out how to make a helicopter fly properly, on a severely gutted defense pittance budget. And the most successful politicians who dared to cross the "entertainment chasm" to enter the political arena favor the conservative side more than the liberal, in terms of longevity and influence - and they can snag some prominent positions, as witnessed by at least 2 Governors, 8 current Congressional (both House and Senate) seat holders, and countless scattered citizens who've stepped down from the public spotlight, to go about their lives the way our Forefathers envisioned from the start - this country was NOT founded on politics as a vocation, after all; a fact that is obviously lost on today's society......... Finally, I admit to a certain bias on this subject - I myself have made a decent living as an eantertainer - I became a professional rock musician (drummer) at the ripe old age of 17 - during the time when Khadaffi (sp) was being "educated" about American resolve, and although I'm nothing more than 1 obscure footnote on the Web (after 342,798 other sites that come before my net existence, according to my daily Google), I DO know what it's like to deal with politics from the "other" side of the microphone, camera, disc, tape, or computer - all I can say is that you have to constantly hunt for the logic that may or not be there; all else is irrelevant. (But I'll give you a hint - my chosen avatar holds "some clues to be self-evident!")
