Washington Times Letters to the Editor June 7 - Arlington, VA During the past several months in the American press, the Democrats have frequently denounced the Republicans as Nazis due to their attempts to control runaway federal spending. How very ironic. I remember the Nazis. Let me share a little about them and recall some of their exploits. First of all, "Nazi" was gutter slang for the verb "to nationalize". The Bider-Mienhoff gang gave themselves this moniker during their early struggles. The official title of the Nazi Party was "The National Socialist Workers Party of Germany". Hitler and the Brownshirts advocated the nationalization of education, health care, transportation, national resources, manufacturing, distribution and law enforcement. Hitler came to power by turning the working class, unemployed, and academic elite against the conservative republic. After Der Fuhrer's election ceased being a political conspiracy and was transformed into a fashionable social phenomenon, party membership was especially popular with educators, bureaucrats, and the press. Being a Nazi was "politically correct". They called themselves "The Children of the New Age of World Order" and looked down their noses at everyone else. As Hitler acquired more power, he referred to his critics as "The Dark Forces of Anarchy and Hatred". Anyone who questioned Nazi high-handedness in the German press was branded a "Conservative Reactionary". Joseph Goebbels, minister of communications, proclaimed a "New World Order". The Nazi reign of terror began with false news reports on the Jews, Bohemians and Gypses who were said to be arming themselves to overthrow the "New World Order" and Hitler demanded that all good people register their guns so that they wouldn't fall into the hands of "terrorists and madmen".Right-wing fanatics of the "Old Order" who protested firearms registration were arrested by the S.S. and put in jail for "fomenting hatred against the Government of the German people". Then the Reichstag (government building) was blown up and Hitler ram-rodded an "Emergency Anti-Terrorist Act" through Parliament that gave the Gestapo extraordinary powers. The leader then declared that for the well-being of the German people, all private firearms were to be confiscated by the Gestapo and the Wermotten (federal law enforcement and military). German citizens who refused to surrender their guns when the "jack-boots" (Gestapo) came calling, were murdered in their homes. By the way, the Gestapo were the federal marshals' service of the Third Reich. The S.W.A.T. team was invented and perfected by the Gestapo to break into the homes of the enemies of the German people. When the Policia Bewakken, or local police, refused to take away guns from townsfolk, they themselves were disarmed and dragged out into the street and shot to death by the S.A. and the S.S. Those were Nazi versions of the B.A.T.F. and the F.B.I. When several local ministers spoke out against these atrocities, they were imprisoned and never seen again. The Gestapo began to confiscate and seize the homes, businesses, bank accounts, and personal belongings of wealthy conservative citizens who had prospered in the old Republic. Pamphleteers who urged revolt against the Nazis were shot on site by national law enforcement and the military. Gypsies and Jews were detained and sent to labor camps. Mountain roads throughout central Europe were closed to prevent the escape of fugitives into the wilderness, and to prevent the movement and concealment of partisan resistance fighters. Public schools rewrote history and Hitler youth groups taught the children to report their parents to their teachers for anti-Nazi remarks. Such parents disappeared. Pagan animism became the state religion of the Third Reich and Christians were widely condemned as "right wing fanatics". Millions of books were burned first and then people. Millions of them burned in huge ovens after they were first gassed to death. Unmarried women were paid large sums of money to have babies out of wedlock and then given medals for it. Evil was declared as being good, and good was condemned as being evil. World Order was coming and the German people were going to be the "peacekeepers". Yes, indeed, I remember the Nazis and they weren't Republicans, or "right wing", or "patriots" or "militias". They were Socialist monsters. -- Thomas Colton Ruthford

Hmmm....rewriting history, turning in ones parents, seizing homes.... These are the actions of leftists in this country on a near daily basis. From using Zinn's fantasy of history in schools, to intrusive social services departments, to condemning private homes so Walmarts can be built...these are not "Republican" tactics or actions. Far from it. These are actions by a control freaky left.

Thanks Mo for that illuminating letter. It really sheds light on the truth of Nazi Germany. Just note some things, though – from quotes . . . “The Nazi reign of terror began with false news reports”<br> - Did that include things like the Not-so-swift boat lies, the trashing of McCain and McClelland? What about the lies in “Unfit for Command?” all documented as deceptions by some credible NY Times research. Hitler ram-rodded an "Emergency Anti-Terrorist Act" through Parliament that gave the Gestapo extraordinary powers. - Mmm, sound eerily similar to the “Patriot Act” doesn’t it. Look how the military deceives people by labeling bombs and destructive devices with titles such as patriot missile, the “Peacekeeper Missile.” Deception. Millions of books were burned first and then people. - Mmm! Witness what they did to the Dixie Chix records and albums. Surprised they’re not burning Clinton’s book, ha, ha!

I told you I had you pegged. You are the liar Vinny. You have no hope of being anything else. You and you Liberal Leftest cohorts don't have a clue about the truth. You have all lived off of, and with, lies for so long you no longer have a concept of the Truth. I served three years there. I was there when Kerry the liar was. I have the experience to know when a lie is being told or when a truth is being stretched. I KNOW what Kerry did when he got back . I KNOW that Kerry is a liar. The New York Times story has been discredited, as has the NYT on several occasions. You cite, deliberately, a bad source in order to back up your lie. We can see through that. The NYT carries no weight on this Forum with the Conservatives, nor do allegations against Honorable men who served, and did their duty, and are more highly Decorated than the Liar Kerry. The word of these honorable men do carry extensive weight. Not one of them has been proved to be a liar about any of the events that occurred over there. Kerry has been. None of these men have changed their story. Kerry has. So many times we have lost count. Kerry's actions are more than just documented they are way documented. On file in the Congressional Library. Evident in his own book that he tries to suppress. Flagrant in the News releases from those times. Let me be polite as possible Vinny. I am a Vet. I will not allow you to call those SBVets Liars. I will call you on it every time, and refer to you as the liar you are. When you repeat a lie you become part of the lie. Instead of relying on a poor source whose credibility is shot why don't you do the research and find the lies you say exsist in the book Unfit to Command. I read it. I did not see any lies. Prove it. You can't. Try anyway, big boy. Maybe you wouldn't talk so much BS if you had the experience or the ability to do actual research. It is becoming more, and more obvious that you are going to be a typical Liberal. No substance. Just copy, and paste, or extract from unreliable sources. As well as off the mark allegations. Max Cleland (You could not even get that right) was not besmirched. Everything said about him was proved. He lost because he was not Conservative enough for his Georgia Constituents. I know, this is my Home State, and many of my Kin were fed up with his overt Liberalism. Most of them Democrats, Classic Democrats, with Conservative beliefs. Vinny BS is BS. It is old, tired, and has a beard. Try the truth just once. A real truth. Not a twisted distorted Liberal version of the Truth. Bet you can not do it.

Hi Liar. Show me the Book burnings, by the State, in this country. Show me the Records or CD's that were burned, by the State. Show me the Law that says, I have to buy a book or a CD from someone I don't like. You take a Nazi Action, and compare it to a boycott by Americans of some people they did not like. You are a nasty little man with a nasty disposistion. You are also a liar. You represent the Extreme that is the Left. No truth left. Not on the left.

Right on, BOLO.
The left (and even some on the right) is lost on the true Constitutional definition of Freedom of Speech. If I take my Dixie Chick CD and smash it into a million pieces, that doesn't make me a Nazi. If I buy Hillary's book and use its pages as toilet paper, that doesn't make me a Nazi. The government is the only entity that can violate free speech rights. As a private citizen, if I don't like what you say, what you do, or what you write, I can boycott you or I can buy your product and defame it in any way I wish. That is my right! Free speech laws are in place to protect us from being censored by the government, not private individuals.

The sKerry people didn't burn the books. They just tried to use their power to keep O'Neil's book from being published and distributed in the first place.
No one violated the rights of the Ditzie Chicks. They have always been able to say what ever they want to say. Are you claiming their rights were violated because I choose not to buy their crap? Voting with your money is one of the best things we can do as citizens to make our voices heard. Don't try to deny me my right to free speech, liberal.

How 'bout the false news reports of Vince Foster's "suicide"? Or the ones pertaining to the tragic "accident" that befell Ron Brown? How bout the whoppers relating to the supposed "Gore win" in 2000? Or the ones trumpeting the "quagmire" of Iraq? Need I go on?

Mmmm, let me get back to some reasoned debate, because I don't really think Bush is a Nazi, thought there are some worrisom parallels . . . A report came out today from Senator Bob Graham, FL, who has been tracking a connection between two of the hijackers and Saudi Arabia - - seems the Saudis provided strategic and financial support. Bush squashed the FBI investigation into that. Also, General Tommy Franks told the senator, several months before the Iraq invasion, that troops and the search for Bin Ladin were being called off to redeploy in preparation for the soon to be announced invasion of Iraq. So Bush doesn't want the Saudi ties revealed, he goes in to Iraq for the oil. This is the man you want leading the country??? I hope when Kerry is elected (oooh doesn't that sound sweet!? ) that he bring up the Shrub on treason charges.

Wouldn't that be like the pot calling the kettle black? After all it wasn't President Bush who met with the leaders of a nation we were at war with in secret in Paris in 1971 was it?

Kerry isn't going to win. But you really pissed me off with this one.
Don't you dare talk about that traitor bringing any one up on charges for any thing. This is the man that went to Hanoi, and met in secret with them, then came back, and used their agenda to disrupt our on going political, and diplomatic talks. It is people like you, who knowing these facts and disregarding them that contribute to the ongoing attempts to erode America from within. You are as much the traitor as is he since you support his being a traitor by turning a deliberate blind eye to his reprehensible acts. We (the majority of America) know who Kerry is. He will not see one day in office. You reveal more, and more of, yourself with every slanderous, vituperative, unfounded, nasty little allegation you make. All this has been disproved as to the charges against President Bush. You are obviously being malicious as you have nothing else to fall back on. You are a Michael Moore loser. You know. Thumb out index up loser. If this keeps up we will need Waste Management on a full time basis to haul off the garbage.

Ohh, I can just FEEEL the Christian love and brotherhood! Mmm maybe I'll be a right wing religious republican too! You guys are so warm and inspiring! Kiss, kiss! So if a conservative expresses any irritation on here you are automatically free to snipe at Christians? I fail to see where one man's anger at being betrayed in the manner Sen kerry betrayed his "brothers in arms" translates into a loss of Christian love. Do you not realize that even Jesus got angry? Read the story of the "cleansing of the Temple". It's ok for you to spew any filth you want about the sitting Commander in Cheif, but if we react in anything more than an appeasing and placating manner, it's ooooh there goes those intollerant religious bigots again. And actually, embracing the ideals of a "right wing religious republican" would be the first step to becoming an intellegent, moral human being! ;D
