Hello, I am just 18, so not much life experience yet.
My question, "Why does religion have a place in politics?" comes from the fact that just 9 months ago I was a Bible-thumping Christian. I would argue with people over whether the Bible was completely and literally true, until I became an agnostic, due to the fact that I realized that some of the arguments I myself was screaming were absurd.
So, I would appreciate it if someone could explain to me why a person of any faith should be allowed to impose their religion on others? It seems that everyone agrees that Sharia law is a bad thing. Is Christian Law much better?
P.S. Wouldn't you be a Muslim if you were born in that area instead of in the U.S.?

Why do think it does? Christians (or individuals of any faith or belief system) in America all have one vote, same as anyone else. They all have the right to try and convince others of their belief system, same as you can try and convince to the agnostic view. There is no "Christian law." Countries with Sharia law have Islam as its political system and system of civil law, whether the individual believes the theology or not. I'd say you're still screaming absurd arguments if you don't see the difference.
