Not only do liberals hold an irrational hatred of FOX cable news, but they want to yank it off the air (why are liberals so intolerant of other people's right to free speech, or intolerant of letting those who disagree with liberalism speak out publicly)?
Liberal journalists suggest government censor Fox NewsJournolisters [group of liberal journalists] debate, endorse gov’t control of Fox NewsYou'll notice, midcan5, that the topic of this forum is "Liberal Bias in the Media," and not "let's complain about networks that give conservatives a fair shake."
Most American news channels are horribly prejudiced against conservatives and are usually not critical of liberal concerns, liberal positions, and liberal politicians -
and they've been this way
for decades now.
I've never really understood liberal hatred of FCN (FOX cable news; or FNC, as it is abbreviated in some TV guides).
FCN simply has a number of conservative show hosts, and they do tend to treat conservative views a little more fairly than most other networks.
It's not that FCN is biased against liberals - the fact that really hacks off liberals is that it's one of the few TV outlets that treats conservatives with respect, and treats them fairly, more often than not.
FCN frequently has liberal hosts and guests on their programming to spout off the liberal perspective on things. (Such as Alan Colmes, Juan Williams, the liberal guy with white hair who is frequently a guest on the O'Reilly factor, the blonde liberal chick who is frequently a host on Hannity and O'Reilly, etc)
For years, liberals had a lock on the media: NBC, CBS and ABC were the only TV networks Americans could turn to for years, and they were all slanted left.
CNN eventually came along, but it (owned by Ted Turner) was not a network that was friendly towards Christians or conservatives.
Then there are large newspapers that are liberal, such as
The New York Times.
Newsweek (the magazine from which you quote above) is itself a liberal publication.
Other than FCN, conservatives only have talk radio (e.g., Rush Limbaugh).
More recently, conservatives have forayed into building a web presence (such as
News Busters,
Big Hollywood,
Townhall.)
Maybe I'm mistaken about this, but I think I've read that Fox's owner, Murdoch, has contributed money to Democratic candidates or Dem causes?
I know I've read that various FCN hosts are either Democrat themselves, have contributed funds to Dems, or are related to Dems (e.g., Greta Van Sustern, who hosts "On the Record").
How can any liberal moan and gripe about FCN when liberals control about 99% of the news and entertainment media (e.g., Hollywood, Mtv, etc)?
Why do liberals hate Fox news?
