Think Obama's tax plan is fair? At least have the courage to check out the facts.
Barack Obama claims that under his plan 95 percent of Americans will receive a tax cut. Only 5 percent will receive a tax increase. The following link shows the breakdown of federal income tax as paid by income earners in all tax brackets:

Quick facts:
The top 1 percent of income earners shoulder nearly 40 percent of the total federal income tax burden.
The top 5 percent of income earners shoulder nearly 60 percent of the total federal income tax burden.
The top 50 percent of income earners shoulder nearly 97 percent of the total federal income tax burden.
40 percent of Americans get a FREE RIDE! They pay nothing at all, or they are subsidized by the other 60 percent.
4 in 10 Americans are incapable of paying their fair share in the support of our federal government? Are you serious? I'm all for charity when one is down on his luck. We all have times of difficulty in our lives where we require a helping hand. But, should we honestly be willing to expect that, for every 6 Americans who pay federal income taxes, 4 should pay nothing at all?
Barack Obama would have our nation believe that Republicans favor the rich and have placed an unfair tax burden on the poor and middle class. The Congressional Budget office tells a different story:

The following article will offer a little more perspective.

In fact, the tax burden has been shifted away from the lower and middle income earners and become even more progressive (the rich pay more in taxes) during the time in which Republicans have been in power.
Now let's get back to Barack Obama's plan (Let me be the first to say it -- "Obamanomics"). First of all, he is on record as saying that he will not renew the Bush tax cuts. Be honest, to repeal a tax cut is to raise taxes. If you earned it, it's your money. If you received a tax cut that will be taken away, you will pay more in taxes. Any way you cut it, that's a tax increase! We're not stupid out here, Barack.
Second, it is impossible to "cut" taxes on the 40 percent of Americans who don't pay any federal income taxes. What Barack is really saying is that many Americans who pay no income tax at all will receive a check -- that's free money -- from those of us who actually earned it. That's what honest people call welfare. That is true "redistribution of wealth." It may sound good to some who don't pay taxes to get a check from the government. My question? Where is the shame? Do these people have no pride?
Recently, Barack Obama's running mate, Joe Biden, berated a reporter who quoted Karl Marx and then asked how his ticket's plan was not Marxism. Here's the quote:
"From each according to his ability. To each according to his need." -- Karl Marx
Really, Joe? Is that not exactly what your party is proposing? Call it "Marxism." Call it "socialism." Call it "redistribution of wealth." It is what it is. It's robbing from Peter to pay Paul. It's stealing.
Here's another quote for you, Joe:
"Thou Shalt Not Steal."
Never heard that one before, Joe? Do a Google Search on it. You'll discover a really good book in the process. Perhaps you should read it while you're at it.
Let's face it folks. The current income tax brackets are immoral. Our founding fathers only allowed property owners to vote. They did this for a good reason. They believed that anyone who would have a say in how the nation was governed should have something at stake. 40 percent of Americans don't have "a horse in the race" or "skin in the game." Yet, their vote is worth just the same as those who carry the greatest burden. That is wrong!!!!
I'm not in favor of taking away anyone's voting rights (as long as they are legal citizens.) But, let's be honest. The nation's tax plan is, at its very core, unfair. A vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden is a vote to make it more so. Please consider all of this as you walk in to that polling booth on Tuesday. If you happen to be one of those 40 percent of Americans who pay nothing at all, here's the really good news -- This is still a country where those who are willing to work for it can achieve great success. If you're not willing to work for it, please leave the governing of the country to those of us who do. Just stay home on Tuesday. Doing what's right is not always easy, but it is the right thing to do.
There are still two days before the the most important election this country has faced in many years. If this letter has helped you at all, please forward it to everyone you can. This election will be close, and we can all make a difference.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
God bless America!
