Police Warn Potheads & Protesters to Behave at DNC

Denver police are putting out the word. Shenanigans will not be tolerated during the Democratic National Convention. Pot smokers and rowdy protesters will be arrested.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson reminded the Associated Press today that Denver police will be enforcing the Colorado state law prohibiting the possession of marijuana. Maybe the Denver police think all Democrats are pot-smoking hippies, so they wanted to give them fair warning.
After all, Denver did pass a law in 2005 legalizing the posession of less than an ounce of marijuana. But it means about zilch since the police enforce the state law.
That's right, hippie, leave that reefer at home.
In a parallel story, the Denver police have been distributing a pamphlet explaining what protesters can and cannot do. The pamphlet reminds protesters that if an officer's lawful order to disperse is ignored by any protesters, they can be arrested even if they aren't breaking any laws.
You can also be arrested for blocking streets, sidewalks or parades and disrupting public assemblies, regardless of whether the disruptions are the result of civil disobedience or symbolic actions, the pamphlet says.
