Under Obama, only richest 10% saw income rise

Under President Obama, the richest 10 percent were the only income group of Americans to see their median incomes rise, according to a survey released this week by the Federal Reserve.

The Fed data covered the years 2010-2013, during which period Mr. Obama constantly campaigned against income inequality and won re-election by painting his Republican rival as a tool of Wall Street plutocrats.

“Data from the 2013 [Survey of Consumer Finances] confirm that the shares of income and wealth held by affluent families are at modern historically high levels,” the report said in noting that the median income fell for every 10-percent grouping except the most affluent 10 percent.

The other day my wife and I are in a quaint little town in Pennsylvania where 'buy local' is seen on businesses and automobiles. So what do I see but a 'buy local' sticker on a BMW. Kinda funny that the very people who want you to buy local support union workers who make twice as much as our Union workers and whose export trade surplus is doing quite well. I realize many foreign cars are made in America today, let's face it that helps their image and image matters. How many people buy only for image? Lots if you check. For those who think Rush Limbaugh, among many others pundits, athletes, and entertainers, speak for America ask him [or her] why they supports Germany's auto business as Germans sure don't listen to Rush's rantings - I never hear him talk up the American worker or made here? Glenn Beck is another one to ask.

Buy American doesn't work. Not much is made here, anymore. And I know exactly why.

Instead of spending your days cutting and pasting other left wing peep's blog words to conservative sites, look into all the bs it takes to start a very small business and hire a few workers. This isn't the land of the free. It's the land of the burdensome bureaucracy and regulation designed to keep the big boys on top, and the start ups out.

For all your crap spewing, minimum wage hikes aren't going to do it, and the dems didn't want to do it when they could, anyway. The last one was a modest increase, not near the numbers the shrills are using to attract low information voters. Where was the issue when they had the house, senate and WH? Even they know it would kill more jobs. They just talk about it when they can demagogue the issue and saps like you will fall for it.

For all the Dem talk about "wage disparity" it has increased the most during Obama's administration.

Pretending like what kind of car you buy matters shows your lack of understanding of the issue. We buy Fords, but they're made all over the world.

The fact is, anyone wanting to sink millions into a new business venture would have to be stupid to do it in the US right now.

Buy American does work, both our Buicks are made here. Look only how well GM and Ford are doing today. The thing that fascinates me is how little you hear about this topic on MSM - all media. Do you suppose they too are corporate owned and operated? Yep, they are and thus only the American worker gets the shaft. I admit fully I am a support America and the American worker fanatic.

There is no question today that our MSM is bought and sold like most of our politicians. But there are a few outlets that provide more objective balanced reporting. One of my personal pet peeves is the constant criticism of GM by the corporate owned and operated media. Anything that includes government is bad in their opinion and yet foreign companies work closely with their governments and no one notices or even reports. Japan is a key example. While Japan embargoes our products Americans buy theirs with no thought of consequences. Don't get me wrong there are good Japanese companies, but let's be open and honest here.

So that said I was glad to see Forbes as a media site that presents a more balanced picture and lists all companies and not just those that filter information into an ideological mindset. See a few links below.
