Islam is not just a religion; it's a form of government. Those governments are responsible for most of the world's current human rights abuses. They aren't tolerant of Christians. They kill them! In that case, then perhaps the Islam government can be destroyed while preserving the faith. Is this not happening in Iraq right now? Are we not creating an Arab state where democracy can live in peace with their religion? We are certainly not tearing down mosques over there!

It would be a good topic thread if someone wants to start it. I guess we shouldn't be hijacking this feminism thread.
As long as countries continue to rule by Islamic law, it is appropriate to be critical. I'm not bashing the faith. The system of government is fair game and it's not pretty.

And Christians here insist that the US is a Christian government. So, Christianity is not just a religion.
But the 'not just' is relevant. Islam is not just a government, it is also a relgion. And many, many of its followers are decent citizens of countries all over the world and arerightful citizens of the US, and the Constitution guarantees the freedom of their religion.
To stigmatize them with bumper sticker slogans of hatred and fear creates much more harm than good.
