Terri Schiavo Battle Heads to Florida Supreme Court

A Florida state appeals court has sent a lawsuit over “Terri’s Law,”to the state Supreme Court. This is the legislation passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Jeb Bush that kept the feeding tube in her mouth and saved her life.
Attorney Gets His Way
George Felos, the euthanasia proponent/attorney for Michael Schiavo, Terri’s “husband,” had his request granted when the Florida 2nd District Court of Appeals approved his motion to have the supreme court decide the case.
Felos verbalized his reasoning, saying, “The matter is so important that the state’s high court should decide the case.”<br>
In caving in to Felos, the appeals court denied Bush attorneys an opportunity to gather additional information showing that Terri would not want to be killed. All in a day’s work for a culture of death!
Governor Bush Responds
“As this case progresses, we continue to stress the importance of following the procedural safeguards at each step of the process to insure the resolution is the result of a thorough and deliberate review,” said Bush’s office.
Additionally, the absolute disregard for Terri’s life by her own husband raises questions as to his real motives. According to Bush, “Michael’s interests may conflict with Terri’s.”
Michael Schiavo is currently living with another woman and in fact, has two children with her.
Supreme Court Options
The state high court can either take the case or basically tell the appeals court to hear it and issue a ruling before it will hear the lawsuit. As recently as last August, the Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal filed by Terri’s family over the removal of their daughter’s feeding tube.
In the meantime, attorney’s for Bush have asked the appeals court to stop the case from proceeding while Terri’s family challenges Michael Schiavo’s ability to serve as her guardian.
Take Action!
Pray that Terri Schiavo would be allowed a new guardian and that her life would not be so callously sought to be taken.
