After listening to the 9-11 hearing (April 8th, 2004) in it's entirety, one thing became quite clear. That the Democrats asking questions had an agenda. To besmirch the Bush Administration, period. The tone and line of questioning was so patently political, I almost couldn't believe what I was hearing (no pun intended). I was surprised at the Republicans in that they weren't playing the same game. Their questions were on subject matter (to get to the truth and discover what we can do to prevent another attack), and at times very hard hitting in their nature. The difference was motive, and I think this will back fire on the Democrats in a way that they deserve for their partisan and political treatment of such an important subject.

The one person that I thought went over the top was Bob Kerry, the Democratic Senator from Nebraska. He had the nerve to grill Condi Rice in an accusatory manner about the Cole bombing. He is on the record as suggesting that we attack Iraq in retaliation for Cole incident, and the attack occurred in Yemen, under Clinton's watch on October 12th, 2000. To then grill Condi Rice and accuse her and the President of not taking action is intellectual dishonesty in it's most arrogant form.
When counter-slapped by Rice suggesting just that, she even went on to explain the timeline, the fact that they were handed "no plan" for retaliation by the Clinton Administration, and even added that they took the unusual step of keeping onboard Clinton staffers long after the transition. This was clearly an attempt to use the ignorance of the American public regarding the facts surrounding the incident, and their short memories regarding his own public remarks.
Another point of absolute arrogance being displayed by Democrats, was the request that she not "filibuster" when thoroughly answering their loaded questions. At one point she was asked the name of a document which implied that there was a paper trail that proved that we knew there was going to be a terrorist strike domestically and did nothing about it. She refused to stop at the yes or no answer. The reason was that the document contained no threat information at all, and was entitled as such because President Bush himself requested the report!
I am at a loss for words in describing the level dishonor and disrespect that acting in such a blatantly political manner is, as enacted live for the entire nation (and world) to see. I am not, but if I were a Democrat... I would leave the Despicable Party this very day!
