Our government is no longer a representative body as envisioned by our forefathers.
"Absolute power corrupts absolutely." This is the best way to describe the inner workings of our current federal and state governments. Junior legislators are corrupted by senior legislators. Politicians votes are bought by PAC's and special interests. The corruption spreads like ripples from a stone thrown into a pond.
The only feasible way to actually remove the corruption at a state or national level is to perform a clean sweep of our leaders, a 100% ban on the influence of PAC's and special interest groups, followed by the institution of term limits.

I would agree and disagree.
Yes it is corrupt.
This is what happens when you make public service a career and not a civic duty. Term Limits Term Limits Term Limits..........

It's more complex than that. First the government must be simple and small, the rules should be simple, logical and easy to understand. Then the population have to be well educated about what the government is about. Government employment should be limited to military, the rest of the services should be provided on a competitive basis after open bidding process and after the local budget is voted. The civil legal code should be built around Contract Law. We are far from there but the real problem is that we are going in the wrong direction.
