Since Sept. 11, 2001, I’ve heard numerous phraseologies bantered about like political ping-pong balls. I’ve heard the terms patriotic and anti-American used to drive a wedge between Americans who support President Bush’s war on terror and those who are against anything this administration does, either foreign or domestic. Political players describe opponents as everything from racists to fascists. The one word I have not heard or read is motivation. In this instance for this writing, I am addressing the motivation of the Democrats and the left-wing political adherents in the United States.
When I read Hillary Clinton accuse the President of pressuring the Environmental Protection Agency of falsifying reports on the air quality of Manhattan, one week after 911, I must question her motivation. Sen. Clinton and her staff would have us believe that the good senator is only concerned about the health of rescue workers and New Yorkers as the basis of her accusation. Sen. Clinton didn’t come right out and publicly name President Bush as the culprit, but her intentions are clear. She seeks to slander a popular President’s reputation and diminish his credibility with the public. Her motivation, as I see it, is to raise her standings in the pecking order for the Democratic Presidential candidacy for 2004. Sen. Clinton has, in essence, assigned guilt to George Bush. Her supporters will rush to this flame of truth and spread the word through out the land. Sen. Clinton is gambling that the American public will embrace her quest for the truth as she exposes a political scandal, which may have put American’s lives in danger. She is also relying on the media driven intellect of American voters to forget the accomplishments of this President. She and her supporters will try to keep this story alive in the media for as long as it holds water. I am sure she will ‘discover’ new and distressing facts about the lies and cover-ups of the Bush Administration. Again I would ask conservative and liberal readers alike to question Sen. Clinton’s motivation.
Sen. Clinton has denied the truth to any rumors that she intends to run for the Presidency in 2004. Besides the fact that she is vastly unqualified to run for the office of the Presidency, she is also prone to forget the past. How can a woman who could not recall to an investigation involving her dealings in the Whitewater scandal, the Travel gate scandal, and her commodities windfall produce a book of memoirs about her life with Bill? Is her admission that a ghostwriter wrote the book for her a lesser evil than her previous inability to recall key moments in her life? Sen. Clinton is a freshman senator and a former First Lady from a Presidency who’s President was impeached. Obviously she and other left-wingers will push the first woman President and the dynamics of the white male oppression that have kept women out of the top office of the lady for so long. America has progressed and will continue to do so. Hillary Clinton is not the woman for whom historical progression is written in her fate.
Her motivation will be to exploit the gains and sacrifices other American women have made to contribute to this wonderful experiment known as American Democracy. Her sole purpose in life is to obtain power at any expense. Surely Americans would know her intent from her eight years as the First Lady of an impeached President.
Before any registered voter considers the platform of any candidate, be they conservative or liberal, consider the motivation of the candidate. After considering the motivation of the candidate, listen or search the written news to find to whom they are assigning guilt. Ask yourself at whose expense are they getting their political self-worth. After determining these two factors ask yourself again, if this person were the kind of politician you would vote for.
