Sorry, I fell asleep shortly after I started reading the linked web site. What I managed to gleen from it sounded suspiciously like a very old concept generally referred to as 'pretzel logic.' Same old line with a brand new wrapper.

The liberals hate the conservatives because we are more educated, are independent thinkers, dislike partial birth abortion, own their own businesses and make money.
The liberals are not as educated (as a whole), usually join groups (labor unions, teacher unions, so they can do a bad job, and keep their jobs), jealous of those who have more and feel entitled to things instead of working form them. Liberal politicians campaign on what they are going to "give" them. They don't want their supporters educated. If they did, they would be conservatives.

I did not neglect all the professors, that is why I wrote as a whole they are not educated. However, professors do not know what it is like to live in the "real" world. They get to tell young students what to do and what to think. Their ideology is biased. They too, after awhile cannot be fired. So, they go off the wall with their thinking. Their job is protected. Liberals want people to think they cannot do it on your own. You cannot be successful without someone helping you. That is wrong. Everyone can do it on their own.
Job performance is the way to keep your job. Not unions. etc....

i know for a fact that the majority of conservatives are not more educated...i would say that most people who are conservative or liberal are just blind followers, on both sides of the debate
most people dont think for themselves...sure fire sign of that is that the fact that someone would label themselves either one and condemn the other side off the bat...i am neither conservative nor liberal...each side has its pluses and minuses...
i see both sides as bickering at each other more than actually getting anything accomplished...its all "political"...candidates spend more time trying to get re-elected and kissing up to others to get campaign funds then they do actually doing anything

For an understanding of why they hate us, I would rely less on the theory of spiral dynamics and defer more to the theory of the spiral death syndrom of a culture that has advanced in nothing without outside help in the past 1500 years - or more. The honest answer to the question is because America is a threat to the spread of a culture of submission.

I assume that 'they' you refer to is liberals? Honestly, there are more than enough liberals who visit here and make well enough reasoned statements to show 'they' don't hate us.
The actual problem seems more one of 'them' being threatened by conservatism. 'They' don't want to see their handouts threatened.'They' don't grasp that in order for 'them' to get what 'they' desire from the 'government', 'they' must first encourage that 'government' to steal from 'us' first.
Modern liberals bear little resemblance to liberals of thirty years ago. Modern liberalism bears an extremely close similarity to the socialist organs of the Soviet Union and other socialist countries from history.
I actually heard a liberal politico quote Karl Marx the other day in a favorable context. I nearly dropped my grandson when I heard it, the shock was so extreme. I'm not going to name names on this one-I'm still hoping he'll wake up and back-pedal before somebody else notices it.
The liberals in this country aren't, at least for the most part, bad people. They ARE severely misguided. It's the job of each conservative thinker to help persuade them to see the errors in their logic. It CAN be done if the approach is reasonable. You have to be careful not to frighten 'them'.
Besides, "If you kill them, they won't learn nuthin'". ;D

Thank you Garrett, I wasn't certain who "they" were either. 25 years ago we had a great difference between the Liberals and the GOP. It all came down to the authority of the federal government. The Liberals were very close to being Socialists trying to destroy most of the big businesses of America. Well if they didn't destroy them, they sent them off shore. They have won the battle!
The Republican GOP faded into near obscurity after the religious right took over the Party and labeled it Conservative! Most of us considered ourselves Fiscal conservatives desiring a smaller less intrusive government. But in 1992 the Conservatives had a single agenda and that was to abolish abortions! It killed the desire for capitalism and freedom in America. Many representatives (House/Senate) candidates suddenly were elected and the whole government shifted from Constitutional law to developing a whole new set of laws to protect Americans from themselves. War on Drugs, Hate Legislation and of course the desire for a ban on abortion. Not a single week goes by in the congress where a new sin isn't discussed and a plan is put into action.
So the difference between the Liberals and Conservatives is gone. Both share a desire for a bigger, more expensive and intrusive government and neither are worth the effort to even vote. Our elections have slipped below the 30% of eligible voters because there is not difference. America under either group will hit the Socialism label in 8 years.

Sandy, I agree with much of what you said, however, as cynical as I've become, I still think there's hope that things can still be turned around. Grass roots forums like this one allow those of us who are thinking folks to air our views in constructive ways. I don't know about you personally, but I have a tendency to carry information aquired here and on other sites and in other venues away with me and engage other people in conversations and discussions. The solution, at least in part to our current difficulties is true communication and expression of ideas. We can still do this--our mouths haven't been shut up by the system yet!! (Though I admit, they are dang sure trying their best to do so!) You can absent yourself from the political process if you choose to do so, but the process CAN work if we participate with due diligence. Change may come slowly, but change can bhe effected. True change must come from inside the process, not from outside, if we are to see any lasting effect. So, at the very least, continue to contribute here. At least that way others see and absorb ideas from you to carry into the fray. The system is ill, but it ain't dead yet.

We don't hate you, we pity you. It's close to hate, but only that.
You guys fail in the most outrageous ways to see what your philosophy, in the greatest part, represents. Greed, status quo, unleashing unrestrained economic powers to exploit as they will, and a past that ran over just about every point in the Bill of Rights I can name.
You think government is something you get elected to so you can keep it away from anyone who wants to use it. Conservatives are not associated with any of the advances in social quality of living I can think of. You think like Hoover, whose response to the (unrestrained free market) Depression was, "in the long run, people will suffer if we give them aid." We agree with FDR who countered, " people need to eat in the short run".
During the Depression, your sacred free market collapse caused 60,000 desperate farmers (not your run of the mill left wing nuts) to attend communist rallies in hopes of saving their farms and lives. Conservatives - by philoshophy - would have then (and from what I hear from you guys, would now) stood by and let hell take its course. We formed a government to ensure the "common good". We didn't formally form a US of Free Enterprise at the same time. But, when the US of FE failed us, the formal government of the common good saved us.
Untighten your asses, let down your hair, embrace the tenets of christianity you give lip service to (like "from each according to his ability; to each according to his need"), and join with the society instead of trying to run it for just your own good.
