Fair enough...but level with me, ohmigod's post was rather weak...nonetheless I do retract that statement regarding ohmigod not posting.

Its people like you that make me regret not being an intimidating bully. And your wrong if you think only the elderly buy "useless crap". To say that only the elderly and "good honest people" like yourslef no doubt, get "scamed" into buying stuff they dont need is really a cheap way to get out of the issue at hand. That issue is that people, like yourself, buy from telemarketers. Whether or not youll admit that is your perogotive, but regardless it is the truth. Untill you can a admit that you will be lyin to yourself. I wont defend those telemarketers that do intimidate and bully (Im not ingorant, I know they exist) but when push comes to shove telemarketers are awesome sales people!! And lets be real about one thing, if your saying you got scamed into buying things you didnt even need, ulitimately the decision was yours, so people call it what it is, YOU WERE SOLD!! And some constructive criticism for you, ohmigod, your arguments and rebuttals are about as compelling as that of a four year old, so until you can at least sound smart, dont bother posting again. "Have a good one". ;D Hahahaha! LOL! Your stupid post made me laugh so damn hard. I've NEVER been scammed into buying from telemarketers and the same goes with my roommate, family, and friends. You're wrong, elderly people and other people get scammed into donating or thinking they won a free prize. A lot of times, con artists are good at lying and manipulating people and pretending to be their best friend. It's their tactics to get people to buy and donate. If everyone learned to say NO to con artists and telemarketers, they'd be out of business. I don't fall for those bogus telemarketers and I repeat, I don't buy or donate anything over phone solicitation. You're the one who sounds like a 4 year old. I teach 8th grade History, and my students are a lot more mature than you are.

I have a really dumb question.
If I sell brushes door-to-door and I have a list of people who absolutely don't want me to try to sell them brushes, why in Hell would I waste my limited selling time trying to sell to them instead of the 80% who did not tell me they weren't interested?
If telemarketers know the 20% who went to the trouble to add their names to a do not call list, why in Hell would they waste their time calling those people?
Logic says that the list is an extremely good deal for telemarketers.
I'm very confused.

omigod: I am glad I could entertain you, but is the risk of job loss to nearly seven million people a laughing matter to you?! Apparentely it is, and for that I feel sorry for you. I dont have the patience to deal with your juvinile insults. I would think that an 8th grade teacher could come up with a more compelling argument, guess not. Your arguments and rebuttals only reinforce your lack of knowledge on the subject at hand. I cant wait for your reply, I have never seen someone dig themself out of a stupitidy-pit as deep as the one your in...

Maybe those telemarketers will lose their jobs, but there are other opportunities and jobs out there. They would probably advertise using commercials. There would probably build more fast food places for these underskilled people. This is America, not some third world country. They will survive. I don't force telemarketers to go to their jobs and take all that rejection. It's a minimum wage job and has a high turnover rate. Who the hell wants to go to a dead end minimum wage job where you get yelled at all day? McDonald's and gas stations pay a little better and you don't annoy consumers and have them yell at you everyday.

Oops, ive hit return by mistake. What i wanted to say waz that the ways most u guys say about us telemarketers is very mean and cruel. were just trying to do our jobs and make a living. i work as a tm for newspapers and its a tough job. i work few nights after school and on saturday morning. i'm a high school senior and an honors student. i write for my school newspaper, school poetry magazine, and im a yearbook editor. Plus I work 4 days a week at my job. I dont intend to do telemarketing forever, but it pays okay for a student like me; eight bucks an hour. It hurts when people scream at me in my ear about getting a real job or go get an education. they don't know me at all. I'm going to college next year and majoring in Journalism. So you all have to think twice next time before you yell at a telemarketer. Not all of them are uneducated losers who wants to pursue telemarketing as a career.

As a former telemarketer and a freshman journalism major. I have just one thing to say to you: TEXTTEXTGET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN ;D sorry about the screaming If want to hear people screaming at you just try calling on Sunday night. You'll get some good ones. oh and I was serious on the get out while you still can message.

I have just one thing to say to you: TEXTTEXTGET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN ;D sorry about the screaming If want to hear people screaming at you just try calling on Sunday night. You'll get some good ones. oh and I was serious on the get out while you still can message. I'm putting in my 2 weeks notice tomorrow when I come in to work. I can't put up with all the bullshit and rejection. Plus, working 4 hours a week is a lot for me. I've been getting a lot of homework, projects, and tests lately; plus I'm applying to several colleges. In 2 weeks, I'll be working on Friday and Saturdays at a fancy restaurant. It's only seven bucks an hour but the tips are great. It's too much for a student like me to put up with the pressure of making the sales quota and bothering customers. My boss is being a bitch pressuring me and my coworkers to get more newspaper sales. I've been there since June, and I'm expected to make at least 5 sales a day. I've been doing bad making a quota. But, I'm leaving and I got a better job now. I don't care if the witch fires me! She started getting on my case and threatening to fire me. i'm her big target, she hates my guts. i'm getting out of my stupid job. thanks for the encouragement, former telemarketer. I give you and Precious (the other former telemarketer) a lot of credit for putting up with a lot of rejection. Have a good day, I have to go to lunch now. bye.

what took you so long, I didn't give two weeks notice In fact I think they still believe I transfered to another one of their great (their words not mine) offices later on. I just choose to leave for college a few days earlier than normal. By the way telemarketers put up with more crap from there supervisors than the people they call. Because to become a supervisor you have to be dumb enough (for lack of a better phrase) to choose telemarketing as a career. I had to put up 200 dollars a day. The only reason I kept my job is I achieved 300 dollars once on a Sunday for some reason. If you are fired they'll want you to finish out the day >:(please don't Because they can't make you do so you no longer work there. Then blast them later after you pick up your last check. Just don't count on them as a reference (if they are worthy enough to be one) I wish you luck in all future not telemarketing endeavors ;D
