I love the back roads and when traveling we make sure we take as many of them as time allows. Today in many places it is as if America has been abandoned. "Every so often, you hear grotesquely wealthy American chief executives announce in sanctimonious tones the intention to use their accumulated hundreds of millions, or billions, “to lift people out of poverty.” Sometimes they are referring to Africans, but sometimes they are referring to Americans. And here’s the funny thing about that: In most cases, they have made their fortunes by impoverishing whole American communities, having outsourced their manufacturing to China or India, Vietnam or Mexico." www.nytimes.com/2015/10/04/opinion/sunday/the-hypocrisy-of-helping-the-poor.htmlSupport America: www.american.edu/kogod/autoindex/2015.cfmwww.american.edu/kogod/autoindex/index.cfm"The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was the door through which American workers were shoved into the neoliberal global labor market.... By establishing the principle that U.S. corporations could relocate production elsewhere and sell back into the United States, NAFTA undercut the bargaining power of American workers, which had driven the expansion of the middle class since the end of World War II. The result has been 20 years of stagnant wages and the upward redistribution of income, wealth and political power." www.epi.org/blog/naftas-impact-workers/Buy American support yourself.
