Interesting list, I've only read one. Covid has changed so many things we took for granted. In a way it is a positive as we've learned survival skills and tools to stay healthy. But it has also caused loss of contacts and even friends. 'In the Second Winter of Our Lockdown' lithub.com/10-books-for-being-alone/"You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them." Ray Bradbury

This book is fascinating and while it focuses on Trump it covers mind control and other cults and cult leaders. Excellent read. 'The Cult of Trump: A Leading Cult Expert Explains How the President Uses Mind Control' Steven Hassan www.goodreads.com/book/show/43261495-the-cult-of-trump'The Big Cheat: How Donald Trump Fleeced America and Enriched Himself and His Family' Pulitzer Prize–winning reporter and dean of Trumpologists David Cay Johnston reveals years of eye-popping financial misdeeds by Donald Trump and his family. www.goodreads.com/book/show/56898282-the-big-cheat"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." Isaac Asimov

Read this years ago and while its coverage of political history is broad the first chapter, 'The Necessity of Politics' read again, covers so well the dilemmas and essentials of why Politics and Democratic government are essential. Check it out. 'The Origins of Political Order' Francis Fukuyama' www.theguardian.com/books/2011/may/12/origins-political-order-francis-fukuyama-review"Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education." Franklin D. Roosevelt
